District 45 PTA Council 5K a Run Away Success
It was 41 degrees at start time for the recent District 45 PTA Council 5K, but the close to 300 runners were warmed up and ready! Exactly 270 runners registered for the fourth annual PTA 5K and another 70 youngsters registered for the 1-Mile Fun Run.
Jackson Symphonic Band Selected for SuperState Festival
Jackson Middle School Symphonic Band is one of 12 middle school bands chosen from the entire state of Illinois to perform in the 2012 University of Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival. The 50 member ensemble will perform under the direction of Joseph Koppel at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, May 4, in the prestigious Foellinger Great Hall at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
District 45 Announces May Registration for the 2012-13 School Year
School District 45 recently announced changes to the registration/enrollment process. District 45 will be holding registration at the elementary schools for the 2012-2013 school year during the month of May.
School District 45 Board Appoints Principal
The School District 45 Board of Education voted during a regular meeting on February 21, 2012, to approve the appointment of Raul Gaston to the position of principal at Jefferson Middle School for the 2012-13 school year.
