In September 2013, students were assessed using two assessment tools. Renaissance Star and MAP were used to identify the current level of each student in both Math and Reading. This data along with other indicators such as ISAT scores, current grades, GPA, and teacher recommendation are used to identify the most appropriate academic placement for each student. Students are placed in our accelerated programs, interventions, or general programs, but most importantly student strengths and areas of improvement are identified for each student and class trends.
- As the Soccer and Cross Country seasons come to a close, I would like to congratulate our student athletes and their coaches for a wonderful season. Everyone worked hard and we are proud of their many individual and team successes. In October the Girls’ Basketball season and Cheerleading teams have begun their respective seasons. Teams have been selected and have been practicing to prepare for the challenges facing them in this season’s competitions and tournaments. Best of luck to all our hard working teams!!!
The Jefferson PTA is working to help make Jefferson the best it can be. Through their support students have enjoyed a highly successful first PTA sponsored dance of the year. The Jefferson PTA has also provided our students and staff with the opportunity to purchase school spirit wear, provided teachers with copy services, sponsored teacher needs, and kicked of the first fundraising event this year. All the funds generated by the PTA are used to enhance the middle school experience for all of our students. Thank you PTA for all your support and please join our PTA for the benefit of all Jefferson students!!!
