District Art Show

We are excited to announce that this year's Art Show will contain a literature component! We are hoping to showcase stories, poetry, songs, etc. written by District 45 students. We are hoping that the teachers and parents will begin to encourage our talented writers to enter some of their pieces in the Art Show.

Winter Weather

It seems that winter has finally arrived!  I wanted you to be aware that the students will go outside for recess at lunchtime everyday unless the temperatures fall below 0◦ with the wind chill factor. I am asking that you help your child come to school prepared for this recess period with hats (or hoods), mittens (or gloves) and boots. In addition, students with snow pants will be allowed to play in the snow. Your child’s health and safety are very important to us. We do not have enough supervisors to have some students stay in while others go out, so unless the temperatures fall below 0◦ with the wind chill factor, all students will be going outside for a 15 minute recess period at lunchtime. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Rivera and Ms. Walker

Know Before You Go

As the weather outside starts changing, we need to stay informed and have access to important information related to any potential school cancellations.  In the event of a school cancellation for any reason the school district will send out notices via phone calls, electronic media, and add relevant information on our websites.  However, if these systems were to somehow fail due to the weather conditions or other factors, the information would be available through local media outlets.  The flyer attached (click backback) is made available to you so you have this information accessible if needed.   As always, our priority is to insure that our students and staff are safe and to keep you informed.
